Artist Milton Madison was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. His love of comic books and Lowrider magazines would help nurture his passion for drawing until college. After graduating from Alabama State University with a degree in graphic arts and design, he then pursued painting. His works have been featured at the National Center for the Study of Civil Rights and African-American Culture, the Birmingham Public Library and The Rosa Parks Museum. Along with Sunny Paulk, Milton designed and painted a mural at That's My Child Youth Center where he also taught art.

In his current series, Milton is paying homage to the art form known as "HIP-HOP." Growing up alongside this art form since its conception similar to a sibling of the same age. The powerful sound and presence of this music were like no other. It demanded your attention.

With rhythms, rhymes, and beats, Hip-Hop's influence has vibrated the world and shaped a culture. From music to fashion and style; branding to political and social issues. The energy found in this music and literary art form helped a generation of youth cope and gave them a voice that reflected the problems of urban communities around America. The art has evolved today to be a force greater than anyone could have ever imagined. And it continues to grow. Like Hip-Hop, Milton hopes to use his art to help inspire people to aspire.
